Reflecting on the Pope’s Visit

I have been invited by The New York Times to write for their blog about the Pope’s visit to the United States. You can check these postings out at: http://thepope.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/04/19/on-faith-and-human-rights/

  1. Dr. Mouw, thanks for your nuanced reflections on Pope Benedict’s visit to the U.S. Once again, you have expressed a type of solidarity shared by a growing number of evangelicals and made clear that the Catholic Christ and the Protestant Christ (with all its variegated expressions) is, after all, one and the same. I join your prayer for continued grass roots level intra-Christian ecumenism, dialogue and cooperation.

  2. Dear Dr. Mouw:

I shared your op-ed piece with the folks at CARM.org and much to my surprise they disagree with your essay in its entirety. You may be interested in reading the thread on their discussion forum.

May the peace and love of the Risen Lord be with you,
