Who is Kurt?
I am Kurt Fredrickson, and I am a regular contributor to this blog alongside Eddie Gibbs. I am the Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program, and Assistant Professor of Pastoral Min
istry at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena. I am ordained with the Evangelical Covenant Church. Prior to coming to Fuller in 2003, I was on the pastoral staff at Simi (Evangelical) Covenant Church in Simi Valley, CA for twenty-four years, eighteen of those years serving as senior pastor.
My family continues to live in Simi Valley, and we attend the church I once served as pastor. Sometimes, as in this case, that actually works. I am a member of a local Rotary Club; I serve on the Community Gang Task Force, and I am a Supervising Chaplain with the Simi Valley Police Department.
I love the church, but I am not naïve about the church. The church offers amazing good news of Jesus that transforms lives and cultures. My passion is to help churches missionally engage with their culture extending blessing and good news, and to offer church leaders a new sense of hope, fostering new imaginations as they navigate through crazy societal shifts.

Dear Kurt,
My name is Cosmin Pascu, and i am the editor of the Romanian Journal of Mission.
I know that as a writer you could be busy with lots of articles to write. We have started our Journal this year and the load of work is demanding.
I was wondering if you would like to contribute with an article on mission. It will be much treasured by the Romanian pastors, who are eager to learn how to serve Christ people.
The next formats of our Journal will focus on the responsibilities that the Church should have towards the local mission; contextualization; anthropology, missiology and 21st Century church.
It will be great if you can help us,
